Engel & Völkers Yachting was represented once again at this year's Monaco Yacht Show. From 25 to 28 September, the yachting division presented the latest market and industry trends, as well as the yacht "METEOR" in Port Hercules in Monaco. Built in 2018, this superyacht is capable of a top speed of 16 knots. The 46 metre long motor yacht also served as the venue for an exclusive press event hosted by Anissa Mediouni, Managing Director of Engel & Völkers Yachting, and Sven Odia, CEO of Engel & Völkers AG.
Press conference on luxury yacht
Many trade journalists specialised in yachting attended a press conference held on board of „METEOR" on 25 September. The press conference presented the opportunity for them to ask Anissa Mediouni and Sven Odia questions regarding "Synergies between real estate and yachting". "The Engel & Völkers network is continuously growing in the residential, commercial, yachting and aviation segments. This gives us access to a large, international clientele, and in turn opens up many synergies between our different business divisions. So as well as purchasing a property through us, clients can also charter a yacht," said Sven Odia. Engel & Völkers Yachting is the only yachting broker to preside over a large network that extends beyond the traditional yachting community.
Yachting trend: Chartering is becoming increasingly popular with young clients
Anissa Mediouni also shared exciting insights into the yachting trends of the future: "The charter market is growing year on year. Our clients are increasingly drawn to exotic destinations. During the winter months, the Maldives, the Seychelles, Indonesia and Thailand are in particularly high demand." Another trend observed at Engel & Völkers is that clients chartering a yacht for the first time are now younger than ever. "They are looking to discover the world and explore different cultures without sacrificing the comfort of a luxury yacht," Anissa Mediouni added. Destinations such as Antarctica are also becoming increasingly popular as the region offers unique sights of interest.
