When Art Turns Stage Into a Poem

He dropped in me the doina ... a drop of Malaele, a drop of Caramitru! He has poured out his soul and the poem through the high-tech cello of Naidin! The voices that once lingered my childhood, sounded like they had been brought from a past on a stretched canvas. Slowly, the part of the parts of the past that had been dwindling on the new agreements slowly dwindled. The same voices, the same testimonies ...

A drop of Malaele, a drop of Caramitru, drips into the eternal romanticism firmly anchored in our subconscious. What a dramatic twilight, what a typical Romanian humor, two antipodes that have the fabric of an entire nation.

And then a longing for poetry, childhood singing,

then a tingle and a cry, in the hall without breath,

then a raset and a song

now by Great Romania!

Conversation with Ion Caramitru

Tell me, tonight, how was the audience? It was different from the one in the country? 

It differs, in some way and not, from another point of view! First of all, it is a Romanian show with the best quality texts we love and the vibe of the audience comes from our delight, mainly. What we earn when we leave the country is what we add ... to call it nostalgia, if you want, to say the joy of hearing the most beautiful Romanian language, after all, which is the language of the poets ...

And you have delighted us with poetry, tonight!

And, maybe, the memories that wake up ... there are many feelings that are added here, outside the country! From another point of view, we meet some of the Romanians who left, and many of whom I have been asking, not for a long time and who are looking for the purpose and recognition of their talent and their seriousness in their profession. There are many doctors I've met! It all reinforces my conviction that the Romanians have always been willing to show their talent and strength anywhere in the world. Many Romanian emigrants went to America. The history of America was also made by the Romanians. That does not mean that Romania is depopulated. It's a sign that Romania is not right, but that's another theme! Meeting with the Romanians for me is exciting and gives me more sense to my artistic life.

Your life has been related to the scene since early times! I have read your book you are launching here on the Cote d'Azur, and I want to ask you what is the message behind this book? What do you want to convey?

My book is a quick review, on the interview system, of a pretty significant part of my existence over time. It is not, however, a book written by me but only spoken by me. I have a book on the jobsite, and I'll finish it when I can not do anything else or I will not want to do anything else ...

Can you tell us, a bit, what is it about?

It is a book about my life, on the one hand, and the history of Romania, during the time I've lived. It, also, has a title already found "Born Guilty". I'll get there!
