Carved from 4,000-pound blocks of ice, the train in the just completed Children's Ice Gallery in Anchorage, Alaska's Town Square Park draws children of all ages. The ice sculptures are part of the city's New Year's Eve celebration, which also include ice skating, fire jugglers, live music and a fireworks extravaganza.
Anchorage is one of the last major U.S. cities to ring in the new year. The Anchorage ice gallery is carved in late December each year and is on display until Mother Nature melts the carvings.
