With a 24-year career, Serena Williams has emerged as a champion in many roles - a mother, a woman, an athlete and an icon that breaks down barriers and codes.
Williams' strong multifaceted personality inspired designer Virgil Abloh to design this exclusive, clever blend of a cloak / jacket in conjunction with Nike to celebrate the athlete.
3 things to know about Virgil Abloh's design for Serena Williams:
§ The key words "Mother, Champion, Queen and Goddess" are printed proudly in French on the whole outfit.
§ The material of the outfit was developed specifically for Serena by Nike with a density effect, nicknamed "Ever".
(In echo, his green suit for Melbourne was made in a specific fabric by Nike, nicknamed "Greatest.")
A matching print skirt completes the outfit.
"I like when fashion becomes a way to share a powerful message." With Nike and Virgil we have created a new story for the next generation of athletes, "says Serena Williams.
In addition to the jacket-cape, Virgil Abloh and Nike have created a limited edition t-shirt and cap.
These pieces will be released on May 24 in Europe and North America, and will be sold at the Nike Champs-Elysées and P75 in Paris.
