Vans and the Van Gogh Museum proudly team up to present a collection of artistic designs, using Van Gogh's masterpieces through iconic Vans Classics and premium apparel, available around the world on August 3rd. The Van Gogh Museum will dedicate part of the benefits of this project to the preservation of Vincent van Gogh's legacy and his art collection, in order to keep it accessible to future generations.

Vincent van Gogh is one of the most renowned Post Impressionist painters in the history of Western art. Van Gogh is most distinguished by his work with evocations of beauty, emotion, and color giving life to his personal expression through his art. During his ten-year career, the painter produced more than 2100 works of art, Vans worked closely with the Van Gogh Museum team to select four main works corresponding to both the creative ethos of the brand's designs, but also to the artist's personal family history. Van Gogh's The Skull, Almond Blossom, Sunflowers and Selfportrait are celebrated in an exhaustive Vans collection, promoting one of the most celebrated parts of Van Gogh's work from a fresh perspective.

"We are delighted with the collection, Vans x Van Gogh Museum, which is in keeping with our mission to make the life and work of Vincent van Gogh accessible to as many people as possible, to enrich and inspire them. Van Gogh's director, Adriaan Dönszelmann, said, "by unifying Van Gogh's iconic works of art with the iconic Vans styles, our partnership is bringing Vincent's art" Off The Wall "to life. to say beyond the beaten track and in the world for a whole new public, outside the museum. "

When Van Gogh began to formally study art, he focused on color theory through a series of skeletons, capturing shadow and light in a dark, irreverent expression. These studies came to life in The Classic Slip On, the Long Sleeve Tee, Hoodie and Lacasquette, with Van Goghplacé's Human Skull expertly through every silhouette, with subtle details of the artist's writing and brush strokes hidden in a reimagined checkered pattern.

More colorful renditions come from two of Van Gogh's most famous works, Sunflowers and Almond Blossoms. Van Gogh created five large canvases that depicted sunflowers in a vase using three shades of yellow, to demonstrate the ability to create an image of varying degrees of color and texture, all using different shades of a color. unique hue. The work Les Tournesols has been cut to cover each part of the Authentic, it is also worn on the Sunflower Tee boyfriend and Sunflower Hoodie. Almond blossoms symbolizes new life and reflects Van Gogh's search for serenity. To bring the print and its colors to life, the designers have digitally printed Van Gogh's painting on a satin fabric, to cover the Almond Blossom bomber, the cap and the backpack.

The collection highlights the evolution of Van Gogh's artistic style with his self portrait in which he captures himself with bright colors, unmixed, and a new technique of complementary color association, to create depth and intensity. One can find Van Gogh's self-portrait wrapped on top of the Authentic or on the oversized Tee Van Gogh associated.

The final design salvo includes an ode to Van Gogh's drawing entitled Old Vines with a Woman, delicately printed on the Old Skool and a special Classic Slip On which reproduces extracts from Vincent's handwritten letters for his Brother, Theo. The Vans designers extracted fragments and illustrations from the 700 or so letters that were sent to Theo, and wrapped them around the Classic Slip On. The Classic Slip On and The Old Skool will be sold in Vans stores and in select partner stores.

Each shoe model from the Vans x Van Gogh Museum collection has a custom finish with an insole whose print mimics Van Gogh's famous brushstrokes with Vanset logos from the Van Gogh Museum. Each piece in the collection will also include a special label that will highlight the historical facts behind each of Vincent van Gogh's works.

The Vans x Van Gogh Museum collection will be available for sale online at Vans.eu, at Vans stores, and at select partner stores. The collection will also be available on the website and in the shops of the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam from Friday.
