Vans partners with Eley Kishimoto for the launch of their collection "LIVING ART"!
Vans has collaborated with the British high fashion house Eley Kishimoto, famous for its graphic prints for the launch of a collection including shoes, clothing and accessories.
Mark Eley and Wakako Kishimoto, a husband and wife duo of designers, created in 1992 the brand Eley Kishimoto around their motto "Print the World". In collaboration with Vans design team, Eley Kishimoto used two designs of its archives through the collection and creates three exclusive prints specially devised for Vans.
The collection Vans x Eley Kishimoto consists of ready-to-wear for men and women. It includes a line of five pieces for men, with high buttoned short sleeve t-shirt with raglan sleeves, socks, backpacks and a reversible bob with the image of the printed Flash Eley Kishimoto . A line of women's clothing completes the human line, with the print Magnolia Hysteria Eley Kishimoto on clean feminine silhouette, including a dress, shirts, shopping bags, accessories and slight reversible parka.
Using the aesthetic of its iconic graphic prints, Eley Kishimoto reinterpreted the famous Vans Waffle sole and Checkerboard pattern to create printed exclusively for Vans.
Eley Kishimoto has revisited the iconic motif of the Waffle outsole in a 3D interpretation nicknamed "Whopping Waffle" adorning the bass Vans Era in clear blue. The legendary Vans Checkerboard pattern was transformed into a new printed "Drums", combining tiles unstructured and tribal motifs. The printed Drums is found on the Classic Slip-On, the sandal Hanelei the Sk8-Hi Slim and snowboard boots Aura, exclusively available to women. The third original print created for Vans is an abstract representation of a playground, nicknamed "Bumpy Road" Authentic and applied to the model.
Two precious designs from the archives of Eley Kishimoto, print iconic "Flash" and very feminine design "Magnolia Hysteria", complement the line of shoes for men and women.
To celebrate the release of the collection Vans x Eley Kishimoto "Living Art" Vans organizes exclusive event "Print the House" Saturday, July 11 at the House of Vans in London, in which the designers Eley Kishimoto will invest the famous underground galleries of the Old Vic Tunnels which will be presented art installations from this unique collaboration.
The opening night will be punctuated by the lives and DJ sets Kero Kero Bonito, The Square, JME, Logan Sama, Flowdan, and more ..
