UPAINT X: Monaco’s Street Art Festival Celebrates a Decade of Creativity at Larvotto

From 21 to 25 June 2026, Monaco's iconic Larvotto Beachwalk will once again transform into an open-air artistic playground as UPAINT celebrates its landmark 10th edition. For this special anniversary, the festival is bringing together an exceptional lineup of artists who have helped shape its story since its inception, making UPAINT X the biggest and most ambitious edition to date.
For the first time in the festival's history, 17 international street artists will paint live over five days, from Sunday 21 June through Thursday 25 June. The anniversary edition pays tribute to the vibrant community that has grown around the event since its launch in 2017. Over the past decade, more than 90 artists have joined what organisers affectionately call the "UPAINT Family," with around 12 artists participating each year. Selecting the final roster for the 2026 edition proved to be a challenging task, given the remarkable talent that has contributed to the festival over the years.

The artists chosen for UPAINT X embody the core values that define the festival. Beyond their artistic excellence, they are recognised for their commitment to environmental awareness, their collaborative spirit, and their respect for both fellow artists and the natural world. Many have become audience favourites through their participation in previous editions, helping to build the strong connection between the festival and the public.
Throughout the five-day event, visitors will have the unique opportunity to watch large-scale artworks come to life in real time along the Mediterranean waterfront. Together, the participating artists will create a total of 42 original paintings, each of which will be auctioned during the festival's closing event.

Continuing its longstanding commitment to environmental causes, UPAINT will once again support the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation. The net proceeds from the auction, held both in person and online on Thursday 25 June at 6:00 pm, will be donated to one of the Foundation's environmental initiatives: the Global Fund for Coral Reefs. Through this partnership, the festival reinforces its belief that art can be a powerful tool for raising awareness and supporting positive action for the planet.
The celebrations begin on 21 June, coinciding with the Fête de la Musique, one of the most popular cultural events of the year. Live DJs will provide a festive soundtrack throughout the afternoon and evening, creating a vibrant atmosphere as the anniversary edition officially gets underway. Four additional days of live painting will follow, offering visitors the chance to engage directly with artists and witness the creative process up close.
As always, the UPAINT Village will be free and open to the public. Visitors can enjoy a relaxed lounge area featuring a bar sponsored by Brasserie de Monaco, Melifera Gin, Artonic and Cossetti Winery. Culinary offerings will include a food truck by Gerhard's, as well as artisanal ice cream from Rossi Gelati, ensuring a lively and welcoming environment for art lovers, families and visitors alike.
Another highlight of the programme will take place on Wednesday 24 June, when the Mairie de Monaco hosts the 6th Street Art Junior Challenge. The competition invites students from across the Principality to express their creativity through street art, with an awards ceremony scheduled for the evening. The initiative reflects UPAINT's commitment to nurturing the next generation of artists and encouraging young people to engage with contemporary urban art.
Ten years after its launch, UPAINT has established itself as one of Monaco's most distinctive cultural events, bringing together international artists, environmental advocacy and community engagement in a unique seaside setting. With its largest-ever gathering of returning artists, an expanded programme and a continued commitment to supporting meaningful causes, UPAINT X promises to be a memorable celebration of creativity, collaboration and positive impact.
