Beauty tips and trends from the runways

The beauty looks from this Fall 2013 runway shows are diverse. We've learnt that different styles are on their way and each designers puts his creativity to work. Nevertheless, some beauty trends are more than obvious for this autumn edition.

Violet icy blue eyes makeup colors trend

First of all, we have the violet and the icy blue as the most seen colors for the eye make-up on the runway. We can see this at Dior when using a cat eye liner but not the black one but a violet blue icy one. A thick line with this color to freshen up a bit the eye. If some put this eyeliner to work, others like Salvatore Ferragamo or Michael Kors don't use it at all.

Purple eye makeup

Also, at Jason Wu fashion show in New York we saw a lot of purple eye make-up. Using a lavender liner, the purple transforms itself into the new black. It is more daring, full of energy.

Another trend that we saw on the runway was the return to the 90s with the brown lipstick. Most of the lipsticks like this one too were matte, even ultra matte. At 3.1 Phillip Lim show this was an evidence.  So the prune eyes were seen at many designers like Oscar de la Renta, Gucci, Gilles, Max Mara.

Orangey shadow

Orangey shadow is, definitely, a beauty trend that is more and more present. Altuzarra,  BCBG, Givenchy, Prabal Gurung used orange hue to accentuate the eyes. And this make up is a must for all the daily (and not only) make up for the new season.

Flat matte red lipstick

Nina Ricci, Marni went for a matte red lipstick. On the other side, the glossy was also seen at Marc Jacobs or Oscar de la Renta. One thing is for sure, the gloss never fades but a deeper trend to matte lipstick makes its return.

Glittery eyes

Although glitter stays in fashion, it depends very much how you use it not to get into that kitsch thing. On the Fall 2013 runway, some beauty looks kept the glitter. Take for example Donna Karan who used it a lot. The makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury mixed pearly glitter with a soft black shadow cream. Also, at Chanel, the makeup artist Peter Philips used platinum sequins on the upper lashes.

The gray eye makeup trend

It is autumn, it is time for the earthy colors: brown, purple and also grey, the washed gray. It was seen a lot during the Fall 2013 runways at Alexander Wang, Derek Lam, John Galliano.
