World champion Kelly Slater Surf announces the launching of his new lifestyle brand "Outerknown" in autumn 2015

Speaking about the upcoming launch of his line, Kelly Slater said: "We are working hard on a brand that explores the link uniting style, sustainability and travel by relying on a timeless, functional design and a willingness to have a positive impact on all the things and the people with whom the brand is related. As global citizens, we are required to create better products and can only try to understand how our consumption affects others. I travel constantly and I continuously monitor the multicultural world in which we live. Outerknown is a brand that is inspired by my travels and defends the values I believe in. "

Kelly Slater has been a top team in which the co-founder of the brand John Moore served as creative director to oversee the products and marketing. Mr. Moore has worked with Kelly Slater in the past and was recently named by GQ among the best new menswear designer of the year 2014. Kelly Slater has also entered into a strategic partnership with Kering Group, a leading global apparel and accessories that shares the commitment of Outerknown vis-à-vis sustainable development. Kering is leading a portfolio of luxury brands, major sports and lifestyle, including Gucci, Balenciaga and Puma.

"We want to create products that last forever," said Moore about the Outerknown philosophy in design. "We have the utmost respect for fashion, the individual and the environment. Our clients are traveling for business and pleasure and take every opportunity that come to reconnect with nature, either by surfing, hiking or other outdoor activities. If there are surf clothing brands, trademarks and technical designer brands, none meets these three aspects at once. But it turns out that we have seen the emerging need for a brand transition. Outerknown meets this vacant space on the market, straddling sport and recreation, and our investment in quality and responsible practices will preserve a high positioning. "
