The 59th edition of the Monte-Carlo Television Festival (June 14-18) will open with the screening of L.A.'s Finest, a drama series starring Gabrielle Union (Bad Boys II) and Jessica Alba (Sin City) in the leading roles. This is what Laurent Puons, Vice President Delegate of the Festival has just announced. The first episode of the series will be broadcast on the occasion of the Opening Ceremony, Friday, June 14, in the presence of the two main actresses and S.A.S. Prince Albert II of Monaco, Honorary President of the Festival. Adapted from Jerry Bruckheimer's Bad Boys film franchise (2014 Nymph of Honor), L.A.'s Finest is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer Television and 2.0 Entertainment in association with Sony Television Networks. The series follows Sydney's journey "Syd" Burnett (Gabrielle Union), who was left in Bad Boys II dismantling a drug cartel in Miami.

Leaving behind a complicated past, she now serves as a detective in the Los Angeles Police Department alongside a new partner, Nancy McKenna (Jessica Alba), an active mother with a past that is just as hectic. Burnett will have to wonder if McKenna's uncompromising and unscrupulous way of life does not hide a heavier secret. By tackling the city's most dangerous criminals, Syd and McKenna become valuable allies on whom to rely, both to enforce the law on the streets and to support each other in their respective lives. The cast is completed by Zach Gilford, Duane Martin, Ryan McPartlin, Sophie Reynolds and Ernie Hudson. Gabrielle Union and Jessica Alba are Executive Producers alongside Jerry Bruckheimer (Bad Boys), Jonathan Littman (CSI franchise), KristieAnne Reed (Lucifer), Brandon Margolis (The Blacklist), Brandon Sonnier (The Blacklist), Pam Veasey (CSI: NY), Doug Belgrad (Peter Rabbit), Jeff Gaspin (To Tell the Truth), Jeff Morrone (Atomic Blonde) and Anton Cropper (Suits). L.A.'s Finest will be released from May 13 in the United States on the Spectrum Originals on Demand platform.

For Laurent Puons: "Our Festival is renowned for presenting new exceptional series to the public and the media. Thanks to a brilliant production team, talented screenwriters and a high-flying cast, L.A.'s Finest has everything to make a mark on the international stage. We are very pleased to welcome Gabrielle Union and Jessica Alba to Monaco to celebrate this French premiere with us. "
