The New York City Ballet is the gracious art by excellence. For a twist on a more innovative level, they turned their heads towards fashion. And not only some fashion but top minds from the industry in order to create more visual impact and connection.
So, therefore, Zuhair Murad, Oscar de la Renta's Peter Copping, Marques Almeida's Marta Marques and Paulo Almeida, Opening Ceremony's Humberto Leon and Carol Lim and Adeam's Hanako Maeda will all create costumes for the New York City Ballet.
It is not the first time, and the industry of ballet understood this link with fashion perfectly. Last year's edition it was Valentino, Mary Katrantzou and Sarah Burton to create the costumes for the New York City Ballet (NYCB). This year the line is even bigger.
For this edition, the show was created by choreographers like San Francisco Ballet dancer Myles Thatcher (Zuhair Murad), New York City Ballet member Troy Schumacher (Marques Almeida), Canadian Robert Binet (Adeam) and NYCB choreographer, Justin Peck (Opening Ceremony).
It is going to be a mix of fashion forces put into an artistic vision on stage.
