Karl Lagerfeld is the fashion designer who likes to express his creativity in various forms. One of them is bringing an eternal hommage to Coco Chanel through a modern tool: video. The designer started creating short films in 2008 as part of the Chanel's Métiers d'art show. He is always behind everything that means costumes, scenario, sets. These have become very popular on the brand's video channel.
For this edition of Chanel Métiers d'art collection in Salzburg that will be launched next week, Lagerfeld prepared a new video called "Reincarnation". In it, two major entertaining celebrities play the roles of the Austrian imperial couple. Cara Delevingne and Pharrell Williams. What a match, right?!
For this the singer Pharrell Williams composed a song called "CC The World" where he sings it with Cara Delevingne. Is the singer who wanted very much to play it with the top model and Cara wanted to sing for a long time. As for Karl Lagerfeld; he was very happy for this collaboration: "He was easy to work with, very pleasant. He's very professional," Lagerfeld said.
In the short film, there is the story of Coco Chanel back in 1954 where she was inspired by the jacket worn by the hotel's elevator operator, the jacket that would become the symbol of the brand: the tweed jacket.
"There's a touch of Pop Art in it," Lagerfeld said in an interview in Paris last week. "It's not meant to be a historical reconstruction or something heavy like that. This is light and funny."
It lets us wait for December 1st to watch it.
