Prince Albert II of Monaco will participate as guest of honor
The Festival will end with the usual Gala evening and awards ceremony, on the program on Saturday 29 April. Prince Albert II of Monaco will participate as guest of honour.
The main purpose of the Monte Carlo Film Festival is the promotion and dissemination of the different genres of comedy through in-competition and out-of-competition previews. A unique showcase in the international panorama for a genre much loved by the public, but generally considered "minor" by critics. It is thanks to the commitment of Ezio Greggio and the late Mario Monicelli (co-founder of the Festival) that the comedy has been re-evaluated in other international festivals, such as Cannes, Rome and Venice. Following its primordial reputation as a comedy festival, the Monte Carlo Film Festival has received over the years an increasing success with the public and with the critics on a world level. After the success of previous editions, the section dedicated to Short Films has been confirmed. The projects compete for the Short Comedy Award, dedicated to directors, actors, producers who make short films in the comedy genre.
All registration information is available through the "Filmfreeway" platform, a leading website dedicated to international festivals. The event, in collaboration with EFG Bank (Monaco), has always taken place under the High Patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco and the Italian Embassy. Once again this year, Radio Monte Carlo is the Festival's official radio station.
