It was on a 23rd of October, on a soft autumn evening in Monte Carlo where The Grand Masked Ball began to unleash its mysteries. Venice was slowly landing on glamorous realm and a parade of costumes was sweeping away the legendary Place de Casino. The lush of the evening was to be untied.
Laced with intrigue, the masquerade is always a reason to decadence and seduction, very common to Monaco's lifestyle. A plunge into Middle Age, in the 15th century Venice up to the Renaissance! This is what Monaco was up to, in a glorious manner, and this thanks to the organization of the event by Noble Monte Carlo.
Casanova greeted the aristocrats and important guests
Members of the aristocracy, important guests were greeted by Casanova while the eyes were trying to make way through the impetuous masks. There is nothing stronger than a mask!
The thrill of the evening that was about to begin was weaving its thread all over the place. The harlequins were waiting impatiently for the Doge to join in and inaugurate the ball. All of a sudden, The Doge came in with his wife and everyone bowed in courtesy. Tall, covered by a long golden red cape, the Doge walked in slowly but with firm steps. A shiver travelled my spine and I made way for the long allay. The myriad of costumes and masks were heading to the large majestic room of Salle Empire. Everyone took their places and Casanova declared the ball open.
Venitian Masks and Costumes were at rendez-vous
Large pompous costumes and glittering evening gowns made their way to their tables. Only eyes seemed to move vividly behind the various masks like Columbina, a half mask covering the eyes, nose and upper cheeks, Medico della Peste, a long beak usually worn with a long cloak and white gloves. Bauta, Pulcinella, Gatto, Scaramucia, they were all there as the most important parts of the entire outfits. Their role is to hide identity, thus allowing everyone to be decadent and flirty, a great tool of seduction.
Glorious artistic performances for The Grand Masked Ball in Monte Carlo
The evening continued in glamorous tones with artistic performances from ballets dancers, Philharmonic Orchestra Mirel Manea, the violinist, Wei Mao, the singer Ana Soklic, soprano Gabrielle Philiponet, the fashion show by Catalin Botezatu, and many other important artists to showcase their talents and entertain the guests. Like every ball, music and dance made room for amusement and seduction. The final twist: DJ Papa turned the vibes into modern tunes and everyone was dancing on the ring floor along with the artists, dancers, all together. One jump from one era to another linked only by costumes and gestures, only mobiles to remind us of the nowadays.
Delia Noble was the heart and the organizer of the event, the queen of the evening with an amazing peacock costume that sublimated her eyes and silhouette and a mesmerizing performance that left everybody in ovation.
"An evening filled with emotion with the Philharmonic Orchestra, the artists who came from all over the world, a great homage to Italy and Monte Carlo!" the artist and organizer, Delia Noble declared at the end of the evening.
