The Festival of Palm Springs is the perfect avant-premiere of the Oscars on February 22. It has the necessary warming it needed and the right celebrities to do it.
Brad Pitt was sure to create a cool ambiance while handling the prize the Best Breakthrough Performance award to "Selma" actor David Oyelowo and trying to pronounce the name of the actor by singing. The singing continued with Steve Carrell who presented Julianne Moore with Best Actress honors for her role in "Still Alice," by singing her name.
Celebrities came at the Festival dresses as for Palm Springs, as they seemed to forgot about the winter cold in New York or other places.
"We seemed to think this was the color for Palm Springs," said Laura Dern. "A wrap would be good, yeah, but we thought Palm Springs meant like sleeveless and strapless," she continued. The actress wore a vivid orange floor-length Matthew Williamson gown. She is the co-star of the movie "Wild" with Reese Witherspoon. Reese wore a Michael Kors polka dot dress.
