The Backstage of a talented DJ, Victor Leporati

Victor Leporati is a talented DJ who seeks details and technical perfection. Well equipped, he knows how to put everything in place with professionalism, as he did with us for the third edition of Food Influencers Awards.

Victor, a short presentation of you for our readers...

A master's student in event communications, I lead a hectic life between my studies, my work and my passion for events, I juggle between organizational and creative aspects to create unique experiences. As a lighting manager, I bring stages to life and create captivating ambiances, while my DJ skills add a touch of rhythm and energy to each event. I am always looking for new opportunities to express my creativity and highlight memorable moments.

Where does the passion for sound and light come from?

It all started with a memorable anecdote. One day, during a visit to the fair, I was lucky enough to win a stereo. When I got home, I decided to install it in my room. As a game, I had the idea of transforming my bedroom into a mini nightclub. This is how I started experimenting with light, and from there a growing passion was born. The marriage between sound and light fascinated me, encouraging me to explore this universe further. This is how I launched into the world of DJing, where I was able to merge my passion for music with that of light.

Tell us about your experience as a sound and light technician... how do you position yourself in this world?

As a sound and lighting manager, my experience was a true adventure of learning and discovery. Each event is an opportunity to push the limits of my creativity and technical mastery. By working on various projects, I acquire expertise in designing unique ambiances, harmonizing sound and light to create personalized experiences.
I position myself in this world as passionate, always eager for challenges and innovation. I also strive to stay on top of the latest trends and technologies, in order to stay up to date in this ever-changing field.
By working as a sound and lighting manager, I find my place in a world where creativity and technology come together to create unforgettable moments. Each project is a new opportunity to showcase my skills and passion, while helping to make each event unique and memorable.

Are there always innovations in the field? What are the innovations and how can you stay up to date with the competition?

As in all sectors of activity, numerous innovations are offered very regularly, however the client focuses mainly on the rendering of his event and not on the purely technical side.
Therefore it is important to rely on recognized equipment without necessarily having the latest innovations to satisfy the customer while controlling the cost of the service for the customer and the personal material investment.

What is the real difficulty in this area?

There are many difficulties in this profession, there are more and more DJs, however, not all of them master the lighting side and do not necessarily have a varied equipment portfolio.
In addition, being young in the profession (and my age) I make myself flexible for my clients and strive to adapt as much as possible to meet their expectations.
Another difficulty is explaining to customers the price of services because some think that Spotify may be sufficient.
However, the services offered go beyond the simple playlist because it is necessary to take into account the sound and light equipment as well as the atmosphere defined in advance through numerous discussions with the client.

How do you see this activity in the future and how do you see your role in it?

With AI gradually becoming established in our lives, I am aware that our job could disappear, replaced by a computer or any device with characteristics that allow us to control other devices. On the other hand, for AI to manage light shows and mixing for example, a human will always be needed to transform customer requests into clear instructions and deal with the various unforeseen events of a light show.
