On 09 May, the twenty-first edition of the Baie des Anges Nice Award crowned Akli Tadjer for his novel The Queen of Tango published by JC Lattes. The jury awarded this work of eight novels nominated. The winner succeeds Jérôme Garcin (the light - Gallimard). Chaired by Franz-Olivier Giesbert, the jury met Paule Constant, Irene Frain, Aurélie de Gubernatis, Didier Van Cauwelaert, Seksik Laurent, Jean-Luc Gag (Counselor delegate to the historical heritage, literature, the fight against illiteracy , theater and the Nice language) and Nicolas Galup (editor Azur TV). Selected by writers and journalists of Azur TV, a jury of ten readers, lover of books and words, was associated with the deliberations. The award will be presented to Akli Tadjer, Christian Estrosi, Mayor of the City of Nice, Friday, June 3, 2016, at the opening of the 21st Nice Book Festival to be held under the chairmanship of Jean-Christophe RUFIN, French Academy.
Akli Tadjer is the author of eight novels, three of them, Tassili The Passenger, The Bearer Satchel, and Once upon a time ... may not have been adapted for television. His latest novel The Baths of Paradise was released by the Lattès in 2014.
Since its creation in 1996 at the initiative of the City of Nice Price Nice Baie des Anges crowned novelists Patrick Renaudot, Raoul Mille, Franz-Olivier Giesbert, Gérard de Cortanze, Claude Imbert, Jean-Noël Pancrazi, Paula Jacques, Venus Khoury-Ghata, Richard Millet, Eric Fottorino, Jean-Paul Enthoven, Didier Van Cauwelaert Saphia Azzedine / René FREGNI (shared award), Daniel Cordier, Laurent Seksik, Aurélie Hustin de Gubernatis, Romain Slocombe, Valerie Tong Cuong Sylvain Tesson and Jérôme Garcin.
