In the presence of HSH Prince Albert II, President of the Monaco Red Cross, and HSH Princess Charlène, Vice-President, the 75th Gala of the Monaco Red Cross will take place on Friday July 19, 2024 at the Salle des Etoiles du Sporting Monte Carlo. This evening highlights the actions carried out on a daily basis by the Monaco Red Cross, with the most vulnerable people, and has done so tirelessly since 1948. It pays tribute to the donors of the Monaco Red Cross, whose generosity makes it possible to prevent and to alleviate the suffering of the most vulnerable. The 75th edition of this charitable event, a must for the Monegasque summer, will be marked by a dinner under the stars by Thierry Saez Manzanares with the Sporting Monte-Carlo brigade, as well as by the prestigious raffle, presented by Tatiana Silva and Taïg Khris , and finally the exceptional Jamiroquai concert. Also note the work of Wim Delvoye, Ball track (Dunant), which will be offered to the Monaco Red Cross on this occasion.

The Monaco Red Cross, serving the most vulnerable since 1948

Created on March 3, 1948 by Prince Louis II, the Monaco Red Cross was recognized the same year by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). It is one of the 191 national societies of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and respects its seven fundamental principles: humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, volunteerism, unity, universality. The Monaco Red Cross's missions are to assist the most vulnerable people impartially and without discrimination, save lives and prepare the population for disasters and carry out awareness-raising and prevention actions of a humanitarian nature. It acts both nationally and internationally. Successively, the Monaco Red Cross was chaired, from 1949 to 1958 by Prince Rainier III, then from 1958 to 1982 by Princess Grace. Since December 17, 1982, it has been chaired by HSH Prince Albert II, whose 40 years of presidency were celebrated in December 2022.

Considered the pioneer of "future punk", Jamiroquai has established itself, since its creation in 1992, as one of the most popular groups on the planet. With more than seven albums entering the UK Top 10 (including three reaching No. 1), the Grammy Award-winning and Brit-nominated band have sold more than 26 million albums worldwide and hold the record for the best-selling funk album of all time in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Ball track (Dunant), a work by Wim Delvoy offered to the Monaco Red Cross

A major figure on the Belgian artistic scene, Wim Delvoye is known for his humor and his taste for experimentation. The artist appropriates and diverts styles and motifs from the history of art, in order to sublimate objects that are certainly innocuous but unconventional, or even living subjects. Most of his works combine artisanal know-how with cutting-edge technology. Very sensitive to the actions of the Monaco Red Cross, and in agreement with the Henry Dunant Foundation, Wim Delvoye wanted to pay homage to the founder of the Red Cross movement, by reproducing his bust, according to his art and his codes, with the Ball Track sculpture (Dunant), offered on this occasion.
