The 70th Edition of the Rose Ball dazzled Monaco last night, Saturday, March 21, 2026, as the Principality's most iconic charity gala celebrated a major milestone under the stars-literally.
Held at the legendary Salle des Étoiles in the Sporting Monte-Carlo, this year's "Galaxy Rose Ball" transformed the venue into an immersive interstellar wonderland. Artistic director Christian Louboutin, in collaboration with scenographer Benoît Miniou, crafted a cosmic spectacle complete with futuristic lighting, celestial projections, glowing floral installations evoking distant nebulae, and an otherworldly ambiance that paid homage to the event's heritage while pushing boundaries into the future.
Presided over by H.R.H. Princess Caroline of Hanover, president of the Princess Grace Foundation, the evening raised vital funds for the foundation's charitable initiatives supporting children, the arts, and medical causes in memory of the beloved Princess Grace, who founded the Rose Ball in 1954.
The Princely Family once again graced the occasion with their presence, arriving to a flurry of flashes and admiration. Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene led the arrivals, embodying timeless elegance in black-tie formality. Princess Charlene's poised entrance set the tone for an evening of refined glamour. Joining them were Princess Caroline, her daughter Princess Alexandra of Hanover (accompanied by Ben-Sylvester Strautmann), Charlotte Casiraghi, Beatrice Borromeo, Pierre Casiraghi, and other members of the Grimaldi family, whose collective attendance underscored the event's deep familial roots.
Guests, numbering around one thousand, included international celebrities, business leaders, philanthropists, and royalty from across Europe and beyond-among them Princess Akiko of Mikasa of Japan-drawn to Monaco's blend of sophistication and goodwill.
The dress code of black tie and evening gowns was interpreted with extraordinary creativity, as attendees embraced the galactic theme through shimmering metallic fabrics, starry embellishments, and dramatic silhouettes that evoked constellations and cosmic elegance. Floral elements, a signature of the Rose Ball, appeared reimagined as ethereal, glowing blooms floating amid the starry décor.
The program featured an exceptional artistic lineup with live performances, music, and surprises that kept the energy soaring into the early hours. Dinner, cocktails, and dancing unfolded against the breathtaking backdrop, making this anniversary edition particularly memorable.
As one of Monaco's premier social and philanthropic events, the Rose Ball continues to blend tradition with innovation, raising significant funds while reinforcing the Principality's reputation as a global beacon of glamour and generosity. Last night's celestial celebration proved that, even after 70 years, the magic of the Rose Ball remains as radiant as ever.
