Tag Heuer in Monaco, a story about sharing

During the Grand Prix Monaco that took place from 26 to 29 of May, the Official Sponsor and Official Watch for Automobile Club de Monaco, Tag Heuer, unveiled new watches on a world exclusive launch.

Aboard the yacht Variety Voyager, on Saturday, the CEO of Tag Heuer and President of the LVMH Watch Division, Jean-Claude Biver, made an exclusive invitation to the launching of two special editions TAG Heuer Formula 1 Red Bull Racing Team watch, a steel quartz chronograph with either a stainless steel bracelet or a textile strap for a sportier look.  The official launching was made along great stars from the world of sport and entertainement and under one big theme : Chinese Dragon. To show the deep connection between the brand to the Chinese market, at the event an entire delegation was present including the pop singer G.E.M., actor Li Yifeng and media.

Celebrities around Tag Heuer

The pilot drivers Max Vestappen and Brunos Senna, the professional rugby player, Dan Carter along with race-car driver and actor, Patrick Dempsey gathered together on Variety Voyager yacht to be part of the revealing of the new Tag Heuer watches, The Red Bull Racing Special Edition and TAG Heuer Connected 18K Rose Gold, in partnership with Intel and Google Android, the watch is once again available in a 46 mm case made from 5N 18K rose gold, and equipped with an elegant strap in a natural calf tone, sewn onto black rubber.

The launching of new and legendary watches

On the display, there were also other watches like the newest Aquaracer 300M, for both Men and Women or the famous Chronograph Calibre 11 Monaco, a re-release of the Heuer Monaco 1969, the square watch which made history as the first water-resistant automatic chronograph in the history of Swiss watchmaking.

It was a moment of sharing, as Jean-Claude Biver, Tag Heuer CEO said at the event. If we do not share, if we do not do it with love, we do not feel the accomplishment - a quote to live by !

It was a moment of emotions through the musical vibes of G.E.M. singing Alicia Keys' song ‘If I ain't got you' or the song ‘Someday I'll fly' while the notes were floating in a swirling dreaming ambiance along the audience. To keep the Chinese theme alive, a Dragon dance was interpreted by two colourful ‘dragons' ready to push the energy to another level.

We all said Cheese ...

And to have that tasty feel and great humour, Jean-Claude Biver launched also its new cheese, cutting it along with Dan Carter who was impatient to taste it. Se was I ! And I loved it !

Tag Heuer shares with Monaco a historical love. Starting with the passion for racing and timeless pieces on a Swiss mechanism, the brand has been part of the F1 legend since it was founded. In 1911 when Automobile Club de Monaco created Monte Carlo Rally, Tag Heuer unveiled the Time of Trip, the first 12-hour chronograph designed for car dashboards and aeroplane instrument panels. Also, in 1916 the brand launched the first chronograph which could measure to within 1/100th of a second.

Tag Heuer and the passion  for sport and racing around the globe

TAG Heuer is currently partnering the Red Bull Racing F1 Team, and is the founding partner and Official Timekeeper of the FIA Formula E Championship; Tag Heuer is also Official Timekeeper of the legendary Carrera Panamericana, the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Pike's Peak in the USA, Official Sponsor & Official Watch of the Automobile Club de Monaco (ACM) and the Monaco Grand Prix, the Indianapolis 500 (Indy 500), the FIA WTCC World Touring Car Championship endurance race, endurance racing with the Dempsey Racing team, and motorcycle racing in the Endurance World Championship (FIM EWC).
