Sunset Monaco: The Ultimate Beach Party During the Monaco Grand Prix

From May 24 to 26, the principality will not only host the exhilarating Monaco Grand Prix but also an event that promises to be the highlight of the social calendar for jetsetters and racing enthusiasts alike: Sunset Monaco. Founded by Monégasques Cédric Houdrouge and Thomas Peeters, this exclusive beach party is set to redefine the party scene in the heart of the French Riviera.

Cédric Houdrouge and Thomas Peeters, both hailing from the principality, envisioned creating an event that encapsulates the essence of Monaco's luxurious lifestyle. Sunset Monaco is their brainchild, an extravagant gathering that merges the electrifying energy of Formula 1 with the relaxed elegance of a Mediterranean beach party. Their vision was simple yet grand: to offer an unparalleled experience for those who appreciate the finer things in life.

The starting point of Sunset Monaco: what's the Story behind it?

Before Sunset, we hosted a private event in Nice during the Monaco GP, running from noon to midnight. It was a free gathering where everyone chipped in, and it was open only to friends and friends of friends. When our event grew to 300 people, we decided it was time to take this to the next chapter and Sunset was born in 2013 taking over the beach of Méridien Beach Plaza.

What is the link to the Grand Prix ? 

We are from Monaco, so F1 is for us what football is to Brazilians. It was the reason why we gathered friends around an event; we wanted them to experience an F1 weekend, a sport that was a bit less visible and accessible 10 years ago.

What makes Sunset so special?

Sunset is special because we are a daytime event in the heart of the principality of Monaco during F1. It attracts the coolest crowd, including celebrities and F1 drivers. We curate an insane music lineup. It's like hosting a festival in the heart of Monte-Carlo!

What would be the highlights of this edition?

Our lineup, our artistic performance, our new Mexican restaurant open till 3 am called Casa Sunset, and the presence of artist Richard Orlinski. He will exhibit four works, including one created exclusively for Sunset, and will participate in a Meet and Greet on Friday, May 24th.

Because we get better every year.

The projections: what would Sunset look like in a few years and what would it bring new to the market?

We have our international presence, such as F1 Miami, which we have been doing for three years, and we plan to continue. Maybe another location, such as Mexico or Vegas. In Monaco, we have now taken over one of the restaurants of Le Méridien Beach Plaza, and if proven successful, we would like to continue expanding as the entertainment partner of Le Méridien Beach Plaza during F1 in Monaco. Music will remain central to Sunset, but we would like to bring more food experiences and also more mindful experiences (such as yoga and ecstatic dance).
