As part of the Department's Summer Evenings 06, the City of Mougins welcomes the Thomas Galliano Quartet from Nice on August 9 at 9 p.m. at the Eco'Parc.
The Summer Evenings are a magnificent example of cultural solidarity within the department and a lever of economic development for the municipalities of the Middle and High Country. Since 1996, this unique event in France has offered free shows in the four corners of the territory and promotes the local artistic quality where more than 90% of the artistic ensembles come from the Alpes Maritimes.
This year, the 28th edition will once again transform the department into a gigantic open-air performance hall where more than 1,500 artists and technicians will offer you evenings rich in emotions. Jazz, blues, rock, French songs, classical music, traditional or from elsewhere but also theatre, humour, magic... As every year, the Department is betting on eclecticism with a varied program of very high quality and for all audiences.
Thomas Galliano Quartet
Born in 1983 in Nice, the young drummer has always evolved in a universe rich in musical influences.
With the passion and vibrant energy of the New York jazz scene, Thomas Galliano released his first quintet album titled Walking Towards The Unknown in 2011 in New York alongside Myron Walden on saxophone and album producer, Luques Curtis and Peter Slavov on bass, Victor Gould on piano, Philip Dyzack and Josh Evans on trumpet. This album brings together in a single music characteristics specific to improvisation, and allows each musician to develop his personal expression. Thomas draws his inspiration from his experience as a man and an artist, integrating many influences, trying to create compositions rooted in reality and strong in a rhythmic blend. He tries to express through this title Walking Towards The Unknown, the feeling that a man can have in search of an evolution, a challenge in life, the exaltation of crossing limits.
