Metropolitan Museum of Art prepared this year the `Charles James: Beyond Fashion" exhibition at the annual Costume Institute gala. Before its opening, the place was the perfect encounter between luxurious dreamy gowns, fabulous looks and art.
The MET gala this year is absolutely a display of glamour, creativity, art, luxury. It is the right moment to showcase the most beautiful gowns in the world. But, this time, men were not forgotten. A certain code was imposed and some of them went with the rule. The men code was "white tie and decorations". Some of the most interesting men went for it. Take Johnny Depp for example.
"This dress code should be mandatory for most events," the actor said of his Ralph Lauren tailcoat. Also, the code was respected by Tom Ford, John Legend.
The decorations included Oscar de la Renta`s Légion d'Honneur who was awarded with a special honor from the King of Spain.
The whole outfits were a cinematic splendour of luxury, art, creativity that went hand in hand with men`s outfits code.
Our favourite look is Sarah Jessica Parker. She is wearing Oscar de la Renta in a way that makes every bit of that gown more presicous that its material worth.
At the gala, the stars wore: Taylor Swift in Oscar de la Renta, Sarah Jessica Parker in Oscar de la Renta and Fred Leighton,Johnny Depp in Ralph Lauren Purple Label, Diane Krugerand Joshua Jackson in Hugo Boss, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian both in Lanvin, Victoria Beckham in her own design and David Beckham in Ralph Lauren Black Label, Michelle Williams in Louis Vuitton, Karolina Kurkova in Marchesa, Karen Elson in Zac Posen, Jessica Alba in Diane von Furstenberg, Selena Gomez in Diane von Furstenberg, Toni Garrn in Topshop, Katie Holmes in Marchesa.
