Ferragamo is Sponsoring the London Screening of 'Rush'
The film due to be on the big screen on 13th of September, is the story on the rivalry between Formula 1 champions, Niki Lauda and James Hunt. The champions are represented in the movie by David Brühl, who plays Lauda and Alexandra Maria Lara, in the role of Marlene Knaus, the wife of the Formula One champion. The film is depicted from 1975 racing competition.
"I created Niki Lauda's character's wardrobe for the film with his most distinctive traits in mind, an extremely determined sportsman, obsessed with perfection, never leaving anything to chance, whether it be a strategic move or a stylistic detail," said Giornetti cited by WWD. "To reflect his strong and unyielding character, I chose exclusive fabrics, clean cuts and sharp forms for his clothes: from impeccably tailored fitted Prince of Wales jackets to short suede jackets with leather trim combined with denim. A stylish and subtly refined allure that is also the epitome of pure intrinsic elegance. All of which is imbued with the unmistakable fashion sense of the 1970s, which remains a source of highly modern inspiration."
Gucci creates clothes for the Rush characters:
In the "Rush", there is also another great designer to create the clothes for the characters. It is Gucci through its creative director, Frida Giannini. The brand created the designs for the character of James Hunt played by Chris Hemsworth and his first wife Suzy Miller, played by Olivia Wilde.
Having the Seventies as an inspiration "it is hard to think of a more glamorous profession than being a racing driver in the Seventies. James Hunt's style is full of animal sensuality, perfectly brought out by Hemsworth in the period-evoking outfits." declared Frida Giannini cited by WWD.
