Chaired by HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco, the third Monte-Carlo Gala for the Global Ocean took place yesterday, September 26, 2019 on the terraces of the Monte Carlo Opera House alongside the Sovereign, international artists and philanthropists around the same goal: to work for a sustainable ocean, for future generations and for the future of our planet.
Guest of honor at the third Monte-Carlo Gala for the Global Ocean, world-renowned actor, director and producer Robert Redford will be recognized for his outstanding commitment to the planet.

In previous editions, Leonardo DiCaprio and Orlando Bloom were honored in recognition of their efforts to raise public awareness of issues related to the protection of the environment and the ocean.
This prestigious evening, organized by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation with the support of Mr. Milutin Gatsby, Global Fundraising Chairman, has won in two editions only as a major event, having achieved the challenge of bringing the major ocean issues in the front of the scene.
The 2019 edition of the Monte-Carlo Gala for the Global Ocean will feature red carpet, a cocktail dinner, a dinner prepared by a Michelin-starred chef and performances by international artists, whose names will be announced in the coming weeks. An exceptional auction will punctuate the evening, offering unique experiences, collectibles and souvenirs, as well as a selection of works by some of the most important international artists. The profits will come in support of the Foundation's actions carried out as part of its mission to preserve the ocean.s more than 60% of its financial support to initiatives in favor of the ocean, in particular the development of marine protected areas, the protection of marine species under threat, the mitigation of impact of climate change and ocean acidification and the fight against plastic pollution.
