Please don't smile with Frank Horvat

On an intimate event in Berlin, the photographer Frank Horvat exposed his work and book, Please don't Smile, last Thursday. It was a retrospective encounter that the 87 years old photographer proposed in order to bring forth the highlights of his career. And, there are inspiring things to see!

The line stretches from images on fashion shows, photoshoots, also from Indira Ghandi or Disneyland. He captured the moments as he wanted to perceive them.

"It's not what a photographer shows me that interests me," said Horvat, "but what kind of person this photographer is." 

Photos are exposed at the luxury boutique in Berlin, Das Stue. We can see incredible images from his fashion shoots for big magazines and brands.

"I started with Givenchy, so to speak," Horvat said.  Still, "to a great extent, I must say that my fashion sessions were the most boring days of my life.", the photographer said. 

The vision is personal so what he seeks is singularity.

"The only thing that truly interests me in a photo is the miracle," Horvat said. "That something happened at that moment that can never happen again. And I'm astonished by those miracles."
