The arrival of the 71th edition of Paris-Nice honoured the cycling champions on the French riviera during two last stages. Another weekend devoted to the biking will be organised in a little more than three months in Nice, outside the Big Corsican Departure of the 100th edition. Christian Estrosi, Deputy - Mayor of Nice, Président of the city Nice French riviera, and Christian Prudhomme, manager of the Tour de France, gave the details of the operation "Nice celebrates the Tour" in the morning.
On the 2013 Tour, it is in Nice that will dock the runners to compete for the first continental stage. If the city has many faithful to the test, with 35 appearances in course since 1906, it is about a return to the capital of the French Riviera, 32 years afterwards the of edition 1981.
For this vintage of exception, the pearl of the French riviera will be invited to double title to play its role, since before the reception of the champions, the city will already live at a time of the Tour during three days, between 29 and the July 1st. A site of animation and of relaxation was conceived to follow first three stages in communion with the island of Beauty. A huge screen, a village of exhibition, stands of animation and all types of games will plunge the visitors in the middle of the Tour. The amateurs will be able also to pass recess to action on June 30th, by testing on the course which will be borrowed by the team time trial two days later. Ø June 30th: amateur time trials, on the course of the 4th stage (departure on the ramp of launching of the Turn, inscriptions limited to 2500 numbers)
