Nice Came Alive for Fête de la Musique 2026

On June 21, Nice once again embraced the spirit of France's beloved Fête de la Musique, transforming streets, squares and seafront venues into open-air stages filled with music, energy and celebration.
From the historic lanes of Vieux-Nice to the iconic Promenade des Anglais, thousands of residents and visitors gathered throughout the day and evening to enjoy a diverse programme of free performances marking the arrival of summer. Musicians of all ages and backgrounds took part in the festivities, reflecting the inclusive spirit that has defined the national celebration since its creation in 1982.

Music in Every Corner of the City

Throughout the city centre, amateur and professional artists performed a wide variety of musical styles, including jazz, rock, pop, classical music, electronic sounds, world music and traditional French chanson. Public squares quickly filled with spectators, while cafés, cultural venues and local associations contributed to the festive atmosphere with their own performances and events.
In Place Masséna, one of Nice's most emblematic gathering spots, large crowds enjoyed live concerts that continued late into the evening. Nearby, the streets of Old Nice echoed with the sounds of acoustic ensembles, street performers and local bands, creating a vibrant soundtrack across the historic district.

A Celebration Along the Mediterranean

The Promenade des Anglais provided one of the most spectacular settings of the evening. As the sun set over the Mediterranean Sea, visitors enjoyed concerts against the backdrop of the Baie des Anges, with music blending seamlessly into the summer atmosphere.
Families, tourists and locals strolled along the seafront, stopping to listen to performances ranging from contemporary pop acts to jazz groups and DJ sets. The event once again demonstrated Nice's ability to combine culture, public space and its exceptional natural setting.

Supporting Local Talent

One of the defining characteristics of the Fête de la Musique remains its commitment to showcasing emerging artists. Across Nice, young musicians and local bands were given the opportunity to perform before large audiences, sharing stages and public spaces with more established performers.
The event highlighted the richness of the city's cultural scene and offered artists valuable exposure in front of an enthusiastic and diverse public.

A Summer Tradition

Held every year on June 21, the Fête de la Musique has become one of France's most cherished cultural traditions. In Nice, the 2026 edition once again brought together people of all generations through the universal language of music.
