New York's Pre-Met Gala Party Season Kicks Off with a Star-Studded Night Across Manhattan
As the fashion world gears up for the Met Gala, New York City has officially entered party mode, with Thursday night marking the beginning of a whirlwind social calendar. From black-tie galas to designer cocktail soirées and art-world celebrations, the city buzzed with VIPs, celebrities, and cultural tastemakers all hopping between events.
On the southern tip of Manhattan, the evening began with a touch of royalty. The King's Trust-King Charles' charity-hosted its annual black-tie gala, attracting philanthropic elites in support of youth empowerment. Meanwhile, further uptown, luxury fashion house Prada unveiled its new men's store with a sleek cocktail party near Central Park, drawing fashion insiders and trendsetters alike.
But the final-and perhaps most talked-about-stop of the night was at the iconic Guggenheim Museum, where Cultured Magazine hosted its second annual Cult100 party. Celebrating the publication's curated list of 100 individuals redefining culture today, the event was a glamorous convergence of art, fashion, and celebrity.
Hosted by Cultured's editor-in-chief Sarah Harrelson and sponsored by Valentino, the gathering pulled an impressive crowd. Fresh from the Prada event, Benito Skinner and Mary Beth Barone joined the festivities, as did Cult100 cover stars Walton Goggins and Sarah Jessica Parker. Goggins, known for his role in The White Lotus, playfully posed with his now-viral cover photo-featuring him in a canary-yellow Speedo-which lit up social media upon its release.
The guest list was a who's who of culture and creativity. Fashion powerhouses such as Rachel Scott, Bella Freud, Hilary Taymour, Stacey Bendet, Christian Siriano, and Wes Gordon mingled with prominent artists like Rashid Johnson and Mickalene Thomas. The acting world was well represented, with appearances from Tommy Dorfman, Christopher Briney, Michelle Buteau, Tramell Tillman, Gina Gershon, Clara McGregor, Zoe Lister-Jones, and Gideon Glick.
Adding to the eclectic mix were tastemakers and icons from various spheres, including Jenna Lyons and Cass Bird, Meadow Walker, Janicza Bravo, Jordyn Woods, Peppermint, Nicky Hilton Rothschild, Chi Ossé, Joey Bada$, Delaney Rowe, Ella Emhoff, and ballet superstar Misty Copeland.
As anticipation builds for Monday night's Met Gala, this kickoff event set the tone for a weekend of unforgettable moments and high-wattage glamour. If Thursday was any indication, New York's party circuit is just getting started.
