La Perla Atelier Couture Spring 2015 took a new step towards an explosive show. It was never before seen a mix of this type: lingerie and sportswear.
La Perla came with a collection that has the creative vibe of the new direction under Emiliano Rinaldi.
"[The show] is symbolic of the new direction under our ownership over the past year," said Suzy Biszantz, chief executive officer of La Perla USA for WWD. "We had our 60th anniversary collection for fall 2014. That was really the beginning of an ‘elevated La Perla.' A lot of those pieces were handmade, very elaborate. It's the next step, offering the couture experience," she said.
The collection is filled with energy. Bodysuits, bras, suspenders found their way in top of the T-shirts; bra straps were turned into belts, stockings were filled with crystals, embroidery and feathers. Lace could be seen on hooded silk satin robes and also on basketball shorts which turned everything to a sporty edge.
"Playing with no rules you arrive at this," said Rinaldi.
On top of this, Naomi Campbell closed the show looking gorgeous: "I am honored. I am 44 years old, I am not 20 years old, like these girls," said Campbell.
