Where polka dots trend comes from?

Many of the fashion industry search the origins of polka dots. Some say it has Eastern European origins where Polka dance was brought to US in the 19^th century. Other voices say that the trend comes from Minnie Mouse outfit when a drop of ink poured from Walt Disney pen when he created it.

Polka dot trend remained vivid through centuries. It is well known the song Itsy Bitsy teenie weenie  yellow polka dot bikini sung by Brian Hyland in the 1960. The version was interpreted in many languages like French Dalida song with the same name.

The Polka Dot trend was revived in the 80’s by Madonna and Cindy Lauper.
