Mougins Monumental 2022 with Giuseppe Carta

For its 7th edition, the open-air exhibition Mougins Monumental 2022 welcomes the Italian sculptor Giuseppe Carta. After the success of the sculpted animals signed Davide Rivalta, more than sixty sculptures will be installed on the sites of the town: Mougins Village, Mougins-le-Haut, the Notre-Dame-de-Vie Chapel and Scene 55 ...

Peppers, fruits and vegetables on a human scale will flourish in Mougins, with an eco-responsible and environmental message in the background. By highlighting like a magnifying mirror the riches of the Earth, the artist hopes to raise public awareness of respect for it! Its sculptural fruits thus celebrate Life and embrace the Earth by drawing on all its colors: the bright red of peppers and pomegranates, the intense red of strawberries, the full-bodied and luminous yellow of lemons, the brilliant green of olives and onions, the purple of the bunches of grapes, the intense orange and gold of the orange. Nature, earth and germination are for Carta symbols of beauty, life, hope and rebirth.

Giuseppe Carta is an internationally renowned Italian painter and sculptor. From classical music and choral singing, which he taught for a long time, he moved on to oil painting. The artist comes from the finely realistic world of still life, which he painted for more than 40 years. The same realism, total and palpable, that the artist transposes into sculpture by loading it with a fertile symbolism and by treating urban spaces as places of Germination. The common thread of his art is nature and the fruits of the earth, which he depicts in their moments of maximum splendor but also in those of their ephemeral character, evolution and maturation. Then comes the sculpture which in a way gives "life" to his still lifes. He calls the process of creation "Germination": the sudden, almost magical and abnormal birth of large fruits in polychrome resin, bronze or reflected aluminium.

The artist creates his sculptures using the ancient technique of lost wax casting in Pietrasanta, an emblematic place of sculpture all over the world. It goes to the heart of the material and generates, through a skilful use of color, eye-catching pop-stage visions. His sculptures, with immediately recognizable and undisputed features, are exhibited in many important cultural venues and at major international events. A cheerful and colorful exhibition, which celebrates the nature and biodiversity of planet Earth with environmental and social safeguard values
