Monte Carlo Fashion Week 2017, an inspiring style event

Monte Carlo Fashion Week sparkled for this 5th edition under the signs of great talent and creativity at the new Fashion Village of Fontvieille in Monaco. In support for the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation, this edition brought international designers and various styles in front of the audience.

The Executive Organizing Committee of this highly anticipated event agreed to support the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation  http://www.fondationprincessecharlene.mc Launched back in December 2012 by HSH Princess Charlene of Monaco, the Foundation's primary objective is to save lives by putting an end to drowning. Its mission is to raise public awareness about the dangers of water, teach children to swim while learning safety measures through the "Learn to Swim" and "Water Safety" programs. The Foundation is equally involved in communicating the values of sport such as discipline, respect for oneself and for others, determination and teamwork. The "Sport & Education" program is based on the belief that sport is a tool that contributes to the wellbeing and development of children.

The event started with a Gala dinner and the Fashion Awards at the Oceanographic Museum. Amazing women were awarded the prizes in recognition for their career and  symbols they bring to society. Naomi Campbell, Chiara Boni, Tatiana Casiraghi, Nima Benati were the names to receive the award created by the artist Marcos Marin.

Naomi Campbell is one of the most known supermodels of the 90s who continued to play an important role in the world of fashion. She was the face for so many important brands like Versace, Dolce & Gabanna, Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton, she appeared in various TV shows, magazines.

Chiara Boni received the MCFWÓ Made-in-Italy Fashion Award, for her important contribution to world fashion. Chiara Boni is a pioneer of the ready-to-wear style. It was ten years ago that she created her collection La Petite Robe that blends sophistication, femininity as well as practicality, made for the active woman not willing to renounce to elegance while traveling.

Tatiana Santo Domingo Casiraghi & Dana Alikhani, were recognized with the MCFW Ethical Brand Fashion Award, for their creation in 2011 of Muzungu Sisters, with refined outfits and accessories produced by artisans from 16 countries in 4 continents.

Embroideries, precious details, natural colors and knits woven following millennial local traditions, represent a special type of manufacturing inherent to the artisans' cultural heritage, that the brand wishes to preserve and enhance, while offering autochthonous populations a sustainable way of living.  Muzungu Sisters are outward-looking collaborating with like-minded designers like Missoni, Delphine Delafon and Olympia Le Tan, to produce exclusive abridged collections, that merited the Muzungu Sisters to be recognized with the 2014 UN's Women Together Award."

The young talented Italian photographer Nima Benati received the Emerging Talent Fashion Award. Born in 1992, Nima has been working in the fashion industry since 2010, capturing the magic of the fashion world through the lenses of her camera. Dolce and Gabbana chose Nima for their latest photo shooting campaign, and this is only the beginning for this brilliant fashion photographer.

Chiara Boni had her show on June the 1st with her ready to wear collection, in the same day with the celebration of the National Day of Italy.

For this year's edition of the MCFW© the Chambre Monegasque de la Mode is proud to announce the important collaboration with the Galeries Lafayette department store in Cannes, through a communications operation available to the participating brands, providing high visibility by exposing some of their creations in the store windows of the renowned shopping mall, during the celebrated 70th Cannes Film Festival and the Monte-Carlo Fashion Week. 

Over and above the designers already confirmed, the MCFW© 2017 dedicates an important place to Italian creativity, with designer Chiara Boni - La Petite Robe opening the runways on Thursday, June 2; and Flavio Castellani, the audacious and romantic feminine fashion brand, who will have the honor of closing the 5th edition of this prestigious fashion event with outfits that will be already available at the brand's boutique in nearby Saint Tropez.

The MCFW© confirms their commitment to giving the spotlight to designers from all over the world featuring: Thelma Spina from Guatemala with her collection inspired by the Mayan civilization; Ivana B.V. from The Netherlands will expose her couture glamorous bags; Savelieff from Switzerland will exhibit her jewelry that are real works of art.

The brand Nordic Angels by Marketa Häkkinen, created by the spouse of two-time F1 world champion Finnish pilot Mika Häkkinen. Marketa will coincidentally be unveiling her first collection at the MCFW© right after the 75th Grand Prix Formula 1 of Monte-Carlo.

Belarusian Natasha Pavluchenko presents her creations with neo-gothic details and 18th century exuberance. The wearable technology interpreted by the Turkish sisters Ezra and Tuba; and the collection of jackets, trousers, dresses and gowns made in Lapland by the Finnish designer Mariela Pokka. From the extreme North of the Mediterranean, the Panarea Island with its sensual atmosphere inspires the brand of beachwear and accessories of A'Biddikkia, and the processing of skins and leathers in the Tuscany tradition gives life to the brand Pisani Maura by actor, model and musician Vittorio Cucci Ryan. Another Italian designer Alessandro Angelozzi Couture, will present his magnificent and refined collection.

Three days of runways, presentations, conferences and lifestyle events geared to the international fashion community, organized for the 5th consecutive year by the Chambre Monégasque de la Mode (CMM), with the continuous support of the Government, the City Hall and the Tourism Office of the Principality of Monaco.

An edition to burst into an inspiring fashion movement that mixes new talents with well known names, an event that fills Monaco with glamour and style.
