Monte Carlo Fashion Week, the capital of luxury and glamour opened its doors between 2 and 4 th of June for an explosion of creativity and business fashion at the Oceanographic Museum. Time for designers to expose and showcase their creations, for buyers to shop and for viewers to admire.

Under an Italian aura and the great organisation of Chambre Monegasque de la Mode through Federica Nardoni Spinetta, Monte Carlo Fashion Week opened its 4th edition in a mix of local designers with international (Italian mostly), young talents with well known minds, futuristic and classical lines all under one roof. There were three days of conferences and runways showcasing Prêt-a-Porter collections, Swimwear and Accessories and Resort collections.

It started with a press conference focused on business, retails and e-commerce. The force of buying and selling, inspirational stories like the Farfetch brand that knew an amazing growth just being a digital platform, the evolution towards technology for brands like Rebecca Minkoff or the link between brick and mortar stores and the more demanding digital.

The first day of fashion shows was opened with the MC Fashion Week Awards where Philip Plein and Stella Jean were honoured for their work and ethics. HSH Princess Charlene of Monaco herself was the one to offer the award to Philip Plein honoring his evolution on the luxury market, as Frederica Nardoni Spinetta said. Also, "The Monaco Chamber of Fashion wants to reward one of the brightest talents of photography," said Federica Nardoni Spinetta, Chairman of the Monaco Chamber of Fashion, "we wanted to honor Giovanni Gastel for his commitment and active contribution to the world of fashion. " The Gastel career will be well illustrated through an exhibition in Milan in September at the Palazzo della Ragione: "Giovanni Gastel: forty years of history and images", edited by Germano Celant. The photographer will receive the prestigious award, created by the Brazilian artist Marcos Marin, June 3 at the Monte Carlo Oceanographic Museum of Monaco during Fashion Week.

Grinko brand opened the shows and continued with designers like Chapurin, Alessandro Angelozzi, Beach & Cashmere, Didimara, A'Biddikkia, Artramus, Nayra Khachatryan, Elisabeth Wessel and Instituto Marangoni presenting its young designers.

The Monegasque brands like Beach & Cashmere and Elizabeth Wessel imposed themselves with creative collections like SS 16 with artistic vibes behind them.

The second day of runways showcased designers like Eliana Riccio, Dresmee, Christian Luongo, Lolita Shondi, Nando Muzi, Iuliana Mihai, Josephine Bonair, Art Nobless, Bellavitis, Nanaeel, Tandini Monte Carlo, Antonella Creazioni, Stardust Monte Carlo, Christine Kostoff, Carlo Ramello, Rhea Costa.

Monte Carlo deserves to be one of the best fashion capitals in the world where the luxury should be the main focus and its uniqueness to the trademark of all high creative designers.
