Monaco has cemented its position as a leading capital of global gastronomy with a historic event: for the first time, the Principality hosted the MICHELIN Guide France & Monaco 2026 Ceremony on Monday, March 16, 2026, at the Grimaldi Forum. On the eve of this highly anticipated unveiling of the new edition, Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer, the event's hospitality partner and operator of the world's most Michelin-starred resort, orchestrated an exceptional event: the Chefs' Dinner, on Sunday, March 15.
In the sumptuous setting of the Salle Empire at the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo and the Louis XV - Alain Ducasse restaurant, 110 two- and three-Michelin-starred chefs gathered for a unique evening dedicated to sharing and culinary excellence. Nearly 250 guests - chefs, culinary professionals, journalists, influencers, partners, and dignitaries - were welcomed to the iconic palace on Place du Casino.
The presence of H.S.H. Prince Albert II, accompanied by Stéphane Valeri, Chairman and CEO of Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer, and Gwendal Poullenec, International Director of the MICHELIN Guide, lent the event a royal and institutional dimension. Among the prominent figures in attendance were also the Group's iconic chefs: Alain Ducasse, Yannick Alléno, Marcel Ravin, and Dominique Lory, all major contributors to Monaco's gastronomic reputation.
Conceived by Alain Ducasse himself and created in collaboration with Emmanuel Pilon, the menu perfectly embodied the philosophy of Mediterranean Naturalness, the signature of the three-Michelin-starred chef. Inspired by the bounty of the Mediterranean basin, he celebrated iconic Riviera products: chickpeas, red mullet, citrus fruits, and other local treasures. True to Ducasse's responsible and contemporary approach, the cuisine emphasized vegetables, with limited use of sustainably sourced fish. The interplay of textures, intensely flavorful sauces, and meticulous preparation of ingredients-including fish trimmings-offered a modern, flavorful interpretation deeply rooted in the tastes of the Mediterranean.
"Long ago, I planted my roots on the shores of the Mediterranean. Along with natural ingredients, it inspires me to create a contemporary, responsible, and flavorful cuisine. Last night, I had the great pleasure of sharing it with my colleagues and friends," said Alain Ducasse, highlighting the emotion of this unique gathering of peers. This Chefs' Dinner was not merely a festive prelude to the MICHELIN Guide ceremony; It symbolized Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer's unwavering commitment to positioning Monaco as one of the leading stages of international gastronomy.
"Hosting such an exceptional gathering of Michelin-starred chefs in Monaco, on the eve of the MICHELIN Guide France & Monaco Ceremony, is a great source of pride for Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer. This evening illustrates our Group's ongoing commitment to making the Principality of Monaco one of the international capitals of gastronomy and the art of living," stated Stéphane Valeri.
By bringing together such a distinguished group of Michelin-starred chefs in the Principality, this unprecedented event reinforced Monaco's unique place on the world map of haute cuisine, while celebrating the excellence, sharing, and culinary innovation for which the Rock is renowned.
