Food Influencers Awards hosted, this year, a fashion show with nautical and Mediterranean theme by AVE Atelier, showing this way that life can be explored through all its senses and that "art de vivre" means gathering together all these elements. The collection was a journey on the Mediterranean energy, barefoot on the grass of La Vague de Saint Paul with corsets, skirts and natural shells that took us to a story of mermaids and voluptuous beings. Eva, the designer of the brand, tells us a bit of her story.
Dear Eva, you're a fashion designer with a certain style ! How did it all started and where to?
Passion was the dawn and creativity was the next step to the light of performance. I only needed one more step - to enjoy the process for achieving the full vision of perfection. I've been flirting with fashion for as long as I can remember, I am fond of beauty from each point of view and this is not just in clothing design. I travel a lot and I get inspired from traditions of different cultures. I cherish the possibility to see the variety of colors and clothing lines from all around the world. I am not sure that everything started in a particular place either at a certain time for everywhere I go I have a sketchbook and a pencil with me. An inspiration can appear and if it is not written down, then the idea might be lost. At this moment I have the workshop in Romania, the products can be found internationally, in multibranding stores.
What is the philosophy behind the brand and what is your market?
Our brand philosophy represents a sense of pride - this is our way of performance, not WHAT we do but HOW we do it.It is difficult to say that the market covers the tastes and social levels of everyone by design, as it would be a market for everyone but honestly, the product with which we took the first step turned to be suitable for all markets. Teenager girls and 65-year-old women wear our corsets with elegance.
How would you define fashion nowadays?
I would describe it 'Complicated' ! I don't think we have enough time to debate upon this topic but for sure nowadays fashion is losing its main essence, namely Quality.
How do you see yourself among other fashion designers? What would be your unique line that defines you the best?
'Individual', that's how I see myself, although sometimes when I sketch or make a moodboard I realize how different but similar we, the designers are. We live in the same world, under the same sun and sky, we get inspiration from the beauty of nature and everything what surrounds us. It happens that we are on the same wave of creative ideas. Once it happened to me, I made some sketches in October, inspired by some fruits from a basket on the table, I drew corsets with figures of fruits, crystals. These sketches remained in the file, around the month of February, beginning of March, I saw the fashion presentation of a well-known brand with a corset almost identical to the one I sketched with fruits, then I realized that fashion requires not only creativity, the importance of speed is crucial.
What would be the fashion innovations for the next years?
I strongly believe that every article related to technology in fashion will advance in future even more.
Do you consider yourself as an avant-gardiste?
Possibly, I'm clearly not the basic type, maybe what is 'too much' for others, for me is just 'simple but stylish'. No doubt, just because I am an avant-garde designer does not mean that there is no possibility to bring out on the fashion stage something classy at a particular moment. Of course every detail depends on my experiences and inspiration.
One word for your style and one word for the woman who wears your designs ...
The woman who wears my creations belongs the a powerful world of strong women. That's exactly what represents our customers. As for my style, I think it's a combination between the armor that most women wear today and feminine elegance. If these two being combined, the word would be unique.
