Louis Vuitton Resort 2015 collection at Monaco

The square in the front of Prince`s Palace of Monaco became yesterday evening the stage for Louis Vuitton Resort 2015 collection. On a huge glass box with more than 350 guests, the show was a sensation. First, it was a premiere for the brand to do a Cruise collection, then to do it in such a place.

"This was Princess Charlene's idea. She wanted to make this weekend part of the worldwide global fashion calendar," said Michael Burke, chief executive officer of Louis Vuitton cited by WWD. "It was her vision and we were very happy to participate in it, so when you have that kind of meeting of the minds, anything is possible."

The entire collection is vivid with floral, aquatic and pictural motifs, checkboard knits, in a big palette of colors and patterns. Nicolas Ghesquière created a youthful collection that clearly defines a space of leisure, medditeranean style and Henri Matisse vision through big floral motifs.

"My imagination, or my imagery if you will, of Louis Vuitton is quite strongly rooted in the Seventies. I mean, I think there was a moment when people like Charlotte's mother, Jane Birkin, were doing their thing with this really cool and slightly offhand look with a real sense of mixing genres," he said. "At the same time she had Vuitton luggage, which was the symbol of a certain bourgeoisie and as a result she gave it a completely different spin."

Per all, the Louis Vuiton Resort 2015 seems cosy, seems chic, timeless and affordable, a mix between the past and the future into an amazing present collection.
