Les Nuits Guitares, Selah Sue Opens the Festival

Les Nuits Guitares Festival returns on July 20-21-22, 2022 at the Jardin de l'Olivaie in Beaulieu-sur-Mer. The event, co-produced by Panda Events and Directo Production, deploys on 3 days of festival under the shade of century-old olive trees.


An international program


Headlining you will find; the singer Selah Sue, who will transport you to a hovering and sensual groove funk universe. Belgian singer-songwriter Selah Sue has won the prize for best female artist five times. She began her career with her first EP "Black Part Love" in 2008 then with the homonymous album in 2011 certified double Platinum in France. She continued in 2015 with the album "Reason" which also met with great success.
The Mexican guitarist duo Rodrigo and Gabriela, capable of setting huge halls and crowds of festival-goers on fire in a few seconds, will be on the bill for the second day of Nuits Guitares. Live, the group makes the audience take up its rhythm in chorus, it's participative, warm, rhythmic... a real dose of good humor with a wide and varied repertoire that should satisfy all guitar lovers.
And finally, he has sold more than 3.5 million records in France and each of his albums is certified diamond disc, Christophe Maé will close the event in style. With more than 700 concerts on the clock, he is one of the most recognized live performers in France.
Many times rewarded through a Victoire de la Musique, several NRJ music Awards or even a World Music Awards, he has been designated as the biggest record seller of the decade. Christophe Maé returns in 2022 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of his album "Mon Paradis".


Other artists from the Côte d'Azur scene will enrich the festival's programming.
Like Carlos Lopes installed on the coast who returns 4 years after his first album "Kanta Pa Skece". The Franco-Cape Verdean singer-songwriter Carlos Lopes continues to dig a furrow that looks like him, that of a bridge that connects Cape Verde, his native land, to France, where he arrived at the age of 10 years. This artist, who grew up in Nice, single-handedly embodies the concept of "creolity", this way of being and living "here and now", by accepting his roots, his past and his dual culture.
But also MLN-HEADZ, which is above all a group of friends who meet regularly at parties organized by Caetano, a young prodigy born in Nice and having grown up in the United States in a family of globetrotting musicians. When this multi-instrumentalist and songwriter/composer sings and raps, time stands still.
His energy is so infectious and his talent so irrefutable that it didn't take him long to surround himself with the cream of Nice in terms of groove.
We will also find Seb Machado, a young prodigy who composed his first melodies at the age of 12, very influenced by Ray Charles, B.B King, Lucky Peterson and of course Stevie Wonder. His first solo album "Ready" was produced in Los Angeles, California , at Pig Sound Studio, featuring all original tracks. In 2014, he appeared alongside Ute Lemper in Woody Allen's film "Magic in the Moonlight" for a live piano performance.
The second album "Kickback" was recorded in France at Studio 26. A pure mix of Rhythm & Blues, funky stuff, close your eyes and you won't believe a white Frenchy is the man you're actually listening to! It's a real Live opus made in 2 days, it's a Performance! Finally, Afroman Radio will broadcast its good vibes from its mythical Fiat 500 between electro, hip hop and breakbeat!
