Latest fashion trends

In 2011, wool is back in fashion. So the Wool Week from London can prove us. The Campaign for Wool under the patronage of The Prince of Wales seems to be a huge success, as great names embraces it: from exclusive wool archive looks from Thierry Mugler, YSL to new pieces by Giles Deacon, Alexander McQueen, Burberry, Paul Smith, Vivienne Westwood.

Wool, world’s greatest natural fibres:

Wool week in London, from 5th to 11th is nothing but wool in fashion, home and craft. We can see now that wool still remains a fibre that is appreciated:  Wool is one of the world’s great natural fibres, famous for its versatility and comfort – warm in winter, cool in summer. I do believe that because it is such a luxury fabric that its status will increase. People will not want man made fibres anymore and luxury will be seen in the great traditional, natural fibres”. (Vivienne Westwood).

Wool Modern:

The main focus from Wool Week is the exhibition “Wool Modern” that celebrates the benefits of one of the greatest natural fibres in the world. The main highlights are Giles Deacon’ s wollen eggs and a special Erdem red carpet.

Harvey Nichols celebrating wool:

Harvey Nichols, also, celebrates the wool by installing wool handbags from luxury brands like Alexander McQueen, Burberry, Vivienne Westwood, Anya Hindmarch, Smythson, Christian Louboutin, Sang A and Quentin McKay. Many of the bags are sold under exclusivity at the end of September and the funds are donated to Prince ‘s Countryside Fund.
