Lady in The Renaissance Bubble by Lita C-Y

Chinese-Singaporean artist-designer born in Belgium, Lita CHOW YUEN offers her creations to the four corners of the globe: Europe, Asia, USA. Recently presented at Cannes, his work as a Performer suggests an intimate and total knowledge of the world. Everything proceeds in cycles, thinks Lita, certainly life culminates in death, beauty turns into dust and ripe fruit into mould. However, the world also presents the opportunity to have another vision of these primordial cycles. Because there is a world in which hope is reborn, where the dust returning to the earth nourishes the seedlings of future flowers, a world where the butterfly, barely out of the cocoon with its withered wings and its fleeting destiny, nevertheless offers a glimpse of grace and elegance. Its message is then simple: To encourage everyone to appreciate and enjoy life...

Immediately, now, on the field! His performance revolves around a giant balloon, illustration of life, like a bubble that can burst and disappear at any time. It is also the representation of the cycle of rebirths, of which the bubble symbolizes the maternal bosom where peace and security are absolute.

When at the end of her show, Lita emerges from her bubble, she will be another person, transformed, like a butterfly emerging from the cocoon. The performance begins with the extraction from the bubble of a "Chapo-tablo" made by her care. Then the artist plays with the bubble, like an attentive child whose curiosity is piqued by a flower in its center. dances to introduce her entire body through the narrow opening evoking the umbilical canal leading to a new experience. Lita finds herself involved in a protected universe. The air of the bubble triggers the dance of ecstasy and happiness: twists, tilts and pivots, finally begins a magical metamorphosis.

But during the initiation ritual, the bubble shrinks and becomes more and more opaque. Lita's secure world becomes harsh, barren and thin. Savie is about to fade away. Just as the bubble diminishes over her moving body, the visibility fades and she barely appears, concealed. In the end, Lita is stuck, held prisoner by rough, shrivel skin. . She is a trapped bird. All the hopes, all the beauty with the clean air are gone...Suddenly, after a dense and critical period of gestation similar to death, Lita reappears, like a fetus emerging from the maternal lair.
A metaphor for the material life that leads us, this Performance seeks to awaken consciences and bring our selfish world back to a more generous and all the more spiritual reality.

Lita CHOW YUEN directs, produces and creates in order to raise funds to support children in difficulty. Each of her actions is associated with local charities such as Soleil d'Enfance and also has supported the Michi Retreat foundation in Bali and erect its LCA Foundation: Le Créatif Ashram dedicated to the religious development of deprived children in Sri Lanka.
