Monaco Chamber of Fashion is heating the engines for Monte Carlo Fashion Week, to be held from June 2 to 4 in Monaco and reveals the name of the third MCFW Awards 2016. After Philipp Plein and Stella Jean, it is the turn for Giovanni Gastel, one of the most renowned international names from Italian photography, to receive the prestigious Award for MCFW Career.

"The Monaco Chamber of Fashion wants to reward one of the brightest talents of photography," said Federica Nardoni Spinetta, Chairman of the Monaco Chamber of Fashion, "we wanted to honor Giovanni Gastel for his commitment and active contribution to the world of fashion. " The Gastel career will be well illustrated through an exhibition in Milan in September at the Palazzo della Ragione: "Giovanni Gastel: forty years of history and images", edited by Germano Celant. The photographer will receive the prestigious award, created by the Brazilian artist Marcos Marin, June 3 at the Monte Carlo Oceanographic Museum of Monaco during Fashion Week.

The muse of the MCFW Awards will be Victoria Silvstedt.

The Monte Carlo Fashion Week (MCFW) organized since 2013 by the Monaco Chamber of Fashion with support from the Government of Monaco, the Town Hall and the Monaco Tourist Office is the "fashion platform" of the Principality of Monaco with 3 days of fashion shows, presentations, conferences and events dedicated to the international fashion community.

Each edition sees scrolling thirty emerging creative talents showcasing their latest swimwear and resortwear collections and ready-to-wear pre-collections in the presence of international buyers and journalists. Sophie Rochas, daughter of the famous couturier who dressed characters from politics and entertainment worldwide, will be the guest of MCFW Friday, June 3 at the Oceanographic Museum to present and sign her book "Marcel Rochas, boldness and elegance "in honor of her father.

Key figure of Parisian life, Sophie Rochas, created and decorated the Elysee-Matignon, high fashion night spot between 1974 and 1985. Her first steps in the newspaper Elle from the early 1960s, its chief costume designer experience in film and her adventure as a queen of the night parties, at two cable lengths of 12 avenue Matignon, are anchored to the unbreakable bond that unites her to her father. Sixty years after the death of Marcel Rochas, it still makes her give an inspired tribute.
