Julia Roberts' surprise on the Red Carpet of the Cannes Film Festival

It's the first time that Julia Roberts came to Cannes for the Film Festival. A first for this Red Carpet, too! As she is one of the most awaited celebrity this year, she came with a big surprise. Beautiful in a Armani Privé black dress but without any shoes. The actress was barefoot! Although it was not any walk on the green grass but on the red carpet, Julia Roberts broke the codes? Some say yes, some say no. In the Festival's guide, there is no mention of shoes on the Red Crapet but for the Gala at the Grand Theatre Lumieres, smoking and evening outfit are required. Still the organisers confirm that high heels are a must. A bit of controversy for many.

One thing is to mention though: Julia Roberts didn't come barefoot from the hotel up to the Red Carpet, she somehow removed them along her way to the premiere.

Anyway, a rebellion fashion act is always a great marketing tool and this works perfectly for the premiere of her latest movie directed by Jodie Foster, Money Monster where she plays along with George Clooney.  

Anyway, we are now convinced that Julia Roberts loves walking barefoot. She did it for her wedding to Lyle Lovett back in 1993!
