John Galliano, the fashion designer for Maison Martin Margiela

John Galliano is one of the most controversial fashion designers of our time. Besides his being licensed out of Dior House for antisemitism in 2011, his  entire creative work is an effervescent world.

On the ultrafeminine, history inspired clothing, John Galliano put his genius to work in fabulous ways. Still,  politics and fashion go together only when they are on the same side.

Since 2011, the Bristish fashion designer has been left on the sidelines of the industry with small coming backs like a collection wearing his name (which was a fail) and the return to New York Fashion Week in February 2013 with a little touch to Oscar de la Renta collection.

Also, he was named, in May, Artistic Director to the L`Etoile, the big cosmetics brand in Russia.

One thing, though, is no the lips of the most fashion lovers: what would bring the collaboration between John Galliano and Maison Martin Margiela? For some, is something that is worth waiting, for other is a sign of defeat as Margiela is built more on a deconstructed style and linear, white boutiques.

Not for Renzo Rosso, the president of OTB, the group that has Margiela house: "John Galliano is one of the greatest, undisputed talents of all time - a unique, exceptional couturier for a maison that always challenged and innovated the world of fashion. I look forward to his return to create that fashion dream that only he can create and wish him to here find his new home."

John Galliano is sure to take the leads of all Margiela lines, including men and women. His first designs are very much awaited in January during Paris Couture Week.
