The Belgian fashion designer Jean-Paul Lespagnard presented his collection called 'Cheese on Fleek" last night during the fashion week in Paris. The models catwalked in an unconventional way: the show offered a sort of compromise between a parade, a presentation and installation. Even less traditionally, a brand new Jaguar XE, especially draped for Jean-Paul Lespagnard into the color of the collection, Acid Green, sat on scenic design.
The genesis of its new collection 'Cheese on Fleek" has accents of pure poetry: "A young girl lives a solitary existence in the Mexican countryside as a Mennonite, a pacifist religious sect. The only time she went to the city of Monterrey, is to sell the cheese product family. During one of her tours, she met at a crossroads a band of Cholombianos, a local subculture characterized by specific dress requirements, a very eccentric haircut and a fascination with popular rhythmic music of South America The Cumbia. Together they decided to form a clan cheese sellers, who will give birth to an organic clothing mixture. The elegant cut of clothes is unstructured countrymen and display further cuts to better match urban life. »
The collection features classic fabrics like cotton, silk and wool, but also more technical subjects, with structured reliefs and energy patterns. The combination of the two sub-cultures and their opposing clothing traditions gives rise to a special relationship where colors vary between rigor and rebellion - the true spirit of the Jaguar XE according to Jean-Paul Lespagnard.
John Paul Lespagnard Forward Thinker in the Jaguar XE
As part of an international campaign FEEL XE, involving ambassadors from disciplines such as music, film, design and business world, John Paul Lespagnard threw himself into the project by revisiting color Classic dark green body "Jaguar Racing Green", which he updated into a contemporary hue, more powerful.
Isabelle Michiels, PR Manager Jaguar Land Rover Belux is on a cloud:
"We are very proud of this unique natural integration of the Jaguar XE in the collection of one of the most promising Belgian designers of the moment. Since the beginning of the project, John Paul Lespagnard was totally fascinated by how we have combined, through this new model, our rich past to the present progressive vision at Jaguar. During the presentation of the Jaguar XE in London last September, we made a trip back in time and showed how Jaguar has tapped in the past to prepare for the future Jaguar XE. The new part of the story that John Paul Lespagnard created is simply beautiful. The story behind this collection is so exciting, it perfectly embodies the concept FEEL XE. »
