For the first time in Monaco, International Women's Sports Day will be celebrated on Friday, January 24th with an edition dedicated to motorsport, at the
prestigious Collection de Voitures du Prince, located a few steps from the
iconic Grand Prix circuit.
From 4pm to 6pm, an invitation-only conference will bring together nearly 120 female students from Monaco, aged
14 to 22, to explore careers in motorsport.
This non-profit event aims to inspire the next generation by demonstrating, through
real-life examples, that success in motorsport does not depend on gender, but
on determination, skills and resilience.
Speakers (4 of them Monaco residents) include
• Delphine Biscaye, F1 Academy Competition Manager
• Cathy Muller, Iron Dames Young Talents Management
• Sara Mariani, FIA sustainability, diversity and inclusion director
• Laurie Clog, Formula E Partnerships & Business Development Mahindra Racing
• Liz Roberts, Sportsunite Monaco
• Vicky Farfus, Iron Dames karting driver
• Marta Garcia, Iron Dames and 2023 F1 Academy champion
World Rally Vice-Champion Michèle Mouton will be the guest of honour.
At the end of the conference, each student will receive a copy of the non-profit book
100 Years of Women: Motorsport & Monaco published by Carob Tree Publishing. Many
women profiled in the book will be present to interact with the
students.
The programme will continue with a cocktail reception at 6pm, marking the official release of 100 Years of
Women: Motorsport & Monaco by Nancy Heslin and Lacey Da Costa. A portion of the sales of the
book will go towards supporting the next generation of female motorsport talent.
The event is supported by Iron Dames and the FIA/Women in Motorsport, and will showcase
rally cars and karts used in competition, driven by women.
Tiffaney Perlino, Chair of the ACM Women in Motorsport Commission,
said: "This initiative is a fantastic opportunity to inspire young girls to
engage in motorsport, while highlighting the achievements of the women who play
a key role in it. It is crucial to reiterate that motorsport is an inclusive field for
women, and we are committed to highlighting their contributions and successes.
