Inauguration of the Place du Casino in Monaco

Tuesday June 2, 2020. This day, which will undoubtedly be remembered, marks the inauguration of the new architecture of the Place du Casino and the simultaneous reopening of the emblematic Brasserie du Café de Paris Monte-Carlo, following the health crisis. Made exceptional by the presence of LL.AA.SS.

The Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene, of H.S.H. Princess Stéphanie and Her children, Mesdemoiselles Camille Gottlieb and Pauline Ducruet, Monsieur and Madame Louis Ducruet, Monsieur and Ms. Andrea Casiraghi, Mr. Pierre Casiraghi, Mr. Gareth Wittstock and the Monegasque authorities, this event translates the surge of enthusiasm that marks the return "to life" in Principality. On this occasion, the officials present, associated with the Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer, wanted to pay a legitimate tribute to all the caregivers and institutional actors involved infront line in the management of the Covid-19 crisis, and in particular at the Princess Hospital Center thanks hanks to the Monegasque Red Cross, Public Security, the Fire Brigade and the Monegasque Society Sanitation.

A new architecture for Place du Casino For Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer, owner and operator of Place du Casino, this event is the culmination of the new architecture of a place that constitutes the living heart of the Principality. This achievement is part of an ambitious global urban project projecting the myth Monte-Carlo in the 21st century. Global project which has already allowed the spectacular metamorphosisof the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo, the creation of One Monte-Carlo, one of the most brilliant concentrations luxury brands in the world, the restructuring of the Jardins des Boulingrins, which revive their landscaped aesthetic from the 1930s, before seeing the facade of the prestigious Casino de Monte-Carlo regain its original physiognomy.

The ambition behind this plan, to make Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer the most exclusive destination in Europe.

Joining the movement of large cities around the world while retaining its specificities unique, the new Place du Casino is structured around three biases:

-priority given to pedestrians and strolling with complete peace of mind. preserving the layout of the famous Formula 1 Grand Prix

- the pleasure of VIP customers of the Monte-Carlo Société Group whose vehicles, often exceptional,can park in the square, attracting the admiration of passersby.

The reopening of an emblematic place in the Principality, the brasserie of the Café de Paris Monte-CarloTheater of Monegasque life, the Café de Paris Monte-Carlo is delighted to be the first establishment of the Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer group to reopen. First of all for inaugurate its brand new embellished, enlarged terrace, now enjoying an environment 100% pedestrian, but also because this reopening marks for all of the Group's employees the time to welcome their customers again.

A symbolic moment of thanks

On the same day, Jean-Luc Biamonti, Deputy Chairman of the Monte-Carlo Group Société des Bains de Mer received, to pay tribute to them, the Monegasque institutions on the front line in the management ofthe Covid-19 crisis, in this case the representatives of the Princess Grace Hospital Center, the Monegasque Red Cross, the Fire Brigade, Public Safety and the Monegasque Society Sanitation (SMA).

On this occasion, an alternative mask offered by the Princess Charlene Foundation was given to each guest and the flag with the now famous #Strongtogether, launched by the Monte-Carlo Group Société des Bains de Mer at the start of the crisis, hoisted in solidarity with all the Monegasque heroes.

Barbagiuans with Swiss chard from the Ferme des Boutons d´Or de Guillaumes, tomato freshness with olivette and Stacciatella, olive crumble, barigoule of spring vegetables, San Remo gamberoni in sweet oil,panna cotta with raspberries flavored with liqueur from the Orangery of Monaco, strawberry stems from the natural valley of Carros, so many specialties prepared by Chefs Philippe Joannès and Franck Lafon with the teams of volunteers of the SBM, which the guests could taste, in preview, at the terrace of Cafe de Paris Monte-Carlo.

Last gift to guests, the "bread of life", a forgotten specialty also known as "Main de Nice", immortalized in 1952 by the famous shot by Robert Doisneau "Les Pains de Picasso ". This tasty bread with light lemon oil has been revisited by Thomas Subrin, MOF,Group baker and made in the SBM bakery by the team of volunteers from Group.
