As a partner, HUGO BOSS supports the exhibition "Das Bauhaus #allesistdesign" scheduled from 26 September 2015 to 28 February 2016 at the Vitra Design Museum in Weil am Rhein in Germany. The museum will exhibit new works from its own collection as masterpieces from private collections from around the world. While presenting the artistic movement as a whole, the exhibition suggests the environment and whichhave influences participated in the democratization of the Bauhaus.
The exhibition takes a critical role for HUGO BOSS, "no other movement that the Bauhaus is so close to the identity of HUGO BOSS. Being a symbol of precision, rigor and modernism is a real source of inspiration for our collections, "says Dr. Hjördis Kettenbach, director of artistic patronage at HUGO BOSS.
The museum will exhibit artists and designers like Marianne Brandt, Marcel Breuer, Lyonel Feininger, Walter Gropius and Wassily Kandinsky. Contributors are Olaf Nicolai, Adrian Sauer, Enzo Mari, Norman Foster, Open Desk, Konstantin Grcic, Hella Jongerius, Alberto Meda, Olaf Nicolai and Jerszy Seymour. A selection of BOSS Woman pieces will also be presented to illustrate the importance of the Bauhaus as inspiration for Jason Wu, artistic director of the BOSS women's collections since 2013. The art and fashion are two closely related disciplines, carried by innovation and creativity. Both seek novelty, guided by the desire to capture the spirit of their time. Desiring to encourage and exchange, HUGO BOSS has launched its art patronage program in 1995 as part of the brand culture. Focusing on contemporary art, HUGO BOSS has supported many exhibitions prominent with the intention to inspire people and give the most promising artists an open platform. Georg Baselitz (1995 and 1996), Dennis Hopper (2001), Olafur Eliasson (2005), Josephine Meckseper (2007), JeffKoons (2012) and Konstantin Grcic (2014) are prime examples.
