After a triumph at Folies Bergere in October, 2011, HARLEM SWING arrives at Monaco for two jazz overpowering sessions!
This outrageous show created by Richard E. Maltby Jr., born in Broadway, will transport you into the rhythm and with a conversational energy in the middle of a club of mythical jazz, in Harlem, in the twenties. Created thirty years ago in New York under title "Ain't Misbehabin'", it alloys passion and humour and creates instant desire to dance!
In the decor of a cabaret of the Mad years, five singers - accompanied with six musicians - form the whole big class and restore with care, and an infectious energy, the directory of the compositor, pianist and American singer Thomas "Fats" Waller, the big jazz musician of the gold age of Harlem. The one who, in the same capacity as Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington, achieves the crossover, this famous bridge which links up the black and white publics. From him are the titles as "This is owed him reach jumpin'", " How ya baby ", " Find out what they like " simple percentage, "Ain' t misbehavin'" and "Black and blue". Every song is a mini-musical.
Delightful one plunging in the world of the ragtime, of the boogie and of the blues waits for you to the Opera Garnier of Monte Carlo.
