Grand Gala International in St Jean Cap Ferrat

côte d'azur | …events

16 September 2020

The Grand Gala event in Saint Jean Cap Ferrat is an artistic event focusing on promoting Opera artists. Let's read more about it in the lines below!

Please, let our readers know, in a few words, more about you as an organizer of the Grand Gala...

The "Grand Gala International à Villa Ephrussi De Rothschild" which will take place on the 19th of September at 8.00 p.m. at 1 Avenue Ephrussi de Rothschild is organised by Tamara Tarskikh, artistic director of Oltreilteatro Artist Promotion, a cultural, musical and other agency engaged in intercultural activities. The partners are Edouard Koskin, director of Batiglobal Côte d'Azur and Olga Nordfors, artistic consultant of Oltreilteatro Artist Promotion and President of the association "La scène Russe de France".

Where did the idea of this event come from?

The idea is to celebrate and pay homage to classical music. Enhancing and bringing classical music and its performers to the world are some of the objectives of the project, which is aimed at lovers and lovers of lyrical virtuosity. And speaking of lyrical virtuosity, it is impossible not to mention that since 10 August this year the new international online project Tosca 3D is underway and will end on 23 May 2021. Tosca 3D is a three-dimensional and creative way to present artists with their performances, through active participation in social contests created to promote the artists.

The event is focused mainly on art and artistic performance? What is the concept behind it?

The "Grand Gala International à Villa Ephrussi De Rothschild" is a unique event that celebrates art and Belcanto. Sopranos Myriam Marcone from Italy, Ekaterina Shelehova from Canada and Reiko Fukuda from Japan will perform, accompanied by the French pianist Jonathan Benichou. A fashion show will also allow us to discover the creations of the "Fab" collection, created by Elizaveta PISKUNOVA and inspired by the famous jeweler Peter Carl Fabergé. Dressmaker from Saint-Petersburg, Elizaveta Piskunova designed and made these unique handmade dresses for the 10th anniversary of the Fabergé Museum in Baden-Baden, Germany. Each dress corresponds to an artwork by Fabergé that takes on a particular style and tells a story of its own.

Has the place a significance to the event and how it would relate to it?

Villa Ephrussi De Rothschild located on the seafront of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat is a wonderful, unique location. The charming atmosphere is perfect for celebrating classical music. During the evening the most beautiful pieces of music from the European repertoire, famous worldwide, will be played, including "Vissi d'arte" from Giacomo Puccini's "Tosca", "Casta Diva" from Vincenzo Bellini's "Norma" and "Prelude n° 8" by Claude Debussy. These pieces played at Villa Ephrussi De Rothschild will be even more beautiful, even more exciting.

Will there be more of this type of event in the future?

There will certainly be other initiatives. All the events of Oltreilteatro Artist Promotion come from an intention to promote opera music and young artists who need the contribution of sponsors to allow this noble art form to continue to shine throughout the world. Oltreilteatro is a very active network, young, full of initiatives and above all open to collaborate with other networks.
