When in Rome, you feel everything: its history, its past and present, the gladiators, the life, the food. And for this reason, Valentino wanted to return to its roots.
The Fall 2015 Couture collection is a twist to origins and Roman charm, to its history and glory, its beauty and power. That is why the collection is mostly in imperial black with splashes of gold. There is power in black and the collection shows it entirely.
"It's kind of a new Renaissance." "Everything is getting so global, it's very important sometimes to be very local to talk about your identity," Piccioli said. "You feel the history, the cinema, the church."
With this in mind, the collection reminds us of the Roman empire through its long dresses and capes, golden crowns, gladiator sandals, jewelry. The toga style, the workings of the tulle, the warrior look, the delicate embroidery and lace make the show and outline the idea of the collection.
The collection is like Rome: you can't get enough to look at and discover it even more each time you see it.
